Ben Roethlisberger quarterback for Pittsburgh has been putting on a good show. Time and time again we see him under pressure that he reads the pressure and even when the pocket collapses, he just carefully comes out of the pocket and takes his time and throws while on the move, showing what a veteran quarterback can do when he doesn’t panic.

The previous drive the Titans defense sacked Roethlisberger on the third down and get the ball back with a punt. 3 and out and the Steelers will get the ball back with 5 minutes left in the half and good field position.

A tipped ball on 3rd and 1 and the Steelers punt the ball and the Titans gett he ball back with decent field position with the lead.

Now more than ever the Pittsburgh defense needs to do their job effectively and get the ball back for their offense.

Tennessee’s Jaime Harper is able to take the ball in to get a touchdown. The score is now 13 to 10 and turn the tables on the Steelers putting them in a need to score situation.

The first 3 and out on the Steelers and they are forced to punt.

Then thanks to special teams a blocked punt and the Titans recover the ball very deep in the Red Zone and it will be Tennessee ball on 1st and goal.

Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has been showing a better perfomrance that I expected and has moved the Titans down the field well. I really thought that the Steeler defense would have been causing a little more pressure on him then they have so far.

The steelers are able to stop the third down conversion and Tennessee takes their second field goal and the score is now Titans 6 to Steelers 10.

3 and out for Tennessee and Steelers get the ball back.

With really good field possession on their first posession Pittsburgh converts on their first third down and within 3 plays is inside Titans territory.

Pittsburgh quickly finds iteslf in a 3rd and 7 and can’t convert and forced tot ake a field goal. We now have a tied score at 3 to 3.

Tennessee Titans turn in a pretty impressive firts drive and get the ball deep into Steeler territory. But they just can’t covert the touchdown and take the field goal.

Football Pick in Tennessee Titans against the Pittsburgh Steelers

As we prepare for the Steelers game tonight with the Tennessee Titans I will admit that I have not had the chance to see any of the Steelers games completely, but from what I have seen of replays and partial games I caught after the fact, in my opinion Pittsburgh has an edge over the Titans.

Ben Roethlisberger QB and team have been very effective this year with 3rd down conversions. Also Roethlisberger is just over 1000 yards for the season so he is on course to match his total yards from last year so consistency is on his side. One stat he wouldn’t want to match from last year is his interceptions since he threw 14 last year. Currently he has only thrown one this year, which is not bad at all for a 2-2 team.

Tennessee has not been doing very well this year, neither on the ground or in the air. With the injury last week to Jake Locker’s shoulder he is out for today so the ball will be in the hands of Matt Hasselbeck for Tennessee.

Defensively I just don’t think the Titans can muster up enough of what it will take to keep Roethlisberger from getting the ball to his receivers and pass rushers. He has shown to do ok against the pass rush and his accuracy on the move has been pretty good as shown by the Steelers’ 3rd down conversion numbers.

If he can make the completions tonight, and they are able to convert on those 3rd downs when they need to, I see them putting the Titans down. I will pick Pittsburgh over Tennessee by 14.

Football Picks from October 3rd for week 6 were 66% right on

For those that have read my post early in the week where a few guys from other sites challenged me to get some picks out. Well I stood up to the challenge and made 3 picks for this weeks games and got them up on the 3rd of October here.

Now I did not necessarily post those picks to encourage visitors to use my picks, I just posted some obversations and made the picks, besides I had to stand up to the challenge. I am sure you completely understand.

The Rams Cardinals game was an upset and defeated a 4-0 team and took away their undefeated status moving the Cardinals to 4-1.

On the other two games I picked them right on the money, so I think I stood up to the challenge pretty well.
