Brief recap of the 2nd half of the Houston Texans versus NY Jets football game

An impressive game over all and like I mentioned in one or two posts earlier the NY Jets defense can really be proud of their performance tonight. They made a number of plays and stopped the Texans at quite a number of times throughout the game.

They got the ball back into the hands of ther offense, and although the Jets offense played a good game they just couldn’t convert on some of the plays they needed to the most.

I think if it wasn’t the Texans on the other side of the field this Jets game may have gone a little different. Their defense made some good plays and were tipping balls that Sanchez threw and in fact picked off 2 interceptions.

If the Jets can give this kind of perfomance in future games they are certainly going to win more games.

The final score of the game Texans 23 to Jets 17. I enjoyed watching this game, and although I had picked the Texans to win over the Jets by 6 in a post on October 3rd here, I felt myself rooting for the Jets during the fourth quarter since they were playing so well and were making really big exciting plays.

The Texans win the game 23 to 17 after a great gane by both sides. They are now at 5-0 for the first time in their history of the franchise.

At this point the Texans really only need to run a few high percentage plays, keep it on the ground and keep the clock running.

With a first down they have just about sown it up. A few plays keeping the clock running will do it.

A nice run by Bilal Powell and now a pas from Sanchez and a first down. And a another pass and another 1st, an incomplete pass stops the clock and 2nd and 10. Sanchez gets sacked in the next play and brings up 3rd and 10.

A blown pass and the Texans intercept the ball and it’s the 2 minute warning.

Houston Texans are stopped again at not quite mid field and are forced to give the Jets another drive.

You really gotta hand it to the Jets defense. They are penetrating on Schaub and been very effective against the run on this drive. The Texans must punt and give the ball to the Jets with 4 minutes.

Tim Teabow is in for a snap and gets a yard or so. Sanchez is back in and he gets wrapped up on a 3rd and 10 and they have to punt.

And the Texans get the ball back with 6 minutes left in the game.

A great run by Shonn Greene and the yards are being made. And then 2 plays later a screen pass to Greene again and he gets a first down.

But they blow it and waste a time out by poor time management.

Another good show by the Jets defense and keep the Texans deep in their own territory and force them to punt.

And now the Jets get the ball back and are in good field position and have the potential to take the lead back.

Well it’s about time for a drive like this quarterback Matt Schaub. He starts with a pass to Jeremy Kerley and he makes a great catch and a nice first down.

And Tebow gowes in and Sanchez stays on as a receiver and Teabow runs for s first down. this is what I have said all along has to happen.

If the jets would start capitalizing more on swapping between these two, they could confuse defenses throughout the leage in games to come.

And they get into field goal territory and take the points and make it a 6 point game.

With the last field goal the score stands at 23 to 14 and Houston expands their lead.

And for the Jets all you can say is that they just couldn’t manage to string enough good plays together in a drive that allowed them to get into scoring territory. In almostevery drive they have had they made a few good plays but they just couldn’t keep it up.

Since the 3rd quarter just ended the Jets are down by 9 and need now more than ever a good solid drive down the field and convert a score.
